MAYA MENON FREEMAN IS A DESIGNER AND FILMMAKER.

Born and raised in New York City, my expansive worldview has been shaped by the energy and diversity of my eccentric hometown. Starting from a young age I displayed a love and skill for all things visual and creative, which introduced me to my passions: design, filmmaking, and photography.

As a member of the next generation to enact change and a Queer person of color, I view activism as a responsibility. With my creative work, I strive to promote social justice, empathy, and understanding. Consequently, I have received awards from The Indie & Foreign Film Festival and The Tokyo Video Festival, and received finalist recognition from BRIC Arts Media and The Tribeca Film Institute.

I am a recent graduate from Emerson College in Boston, with a major in Visual Marketing and Design. Aside from creating, I am known for my strong affinity for carbs and British TV.
